The Nikon Sky & Earth Series of spotting scopes is a complete line that includes straight and angled Porro prism bodies. This scope is an excellent choice for birders, serious wildlife observers and other outdoor enthusiasts looking for quality optics at a reasonable price.
All of the Sky & Earth scopes feature an all-metal chassis for enhanced durability and a built-in sliding sunshade. Integrated O-ring seals makes them water resistant for most weather conditions. A protective rubber coating surrounds the lightweight body housing on each of the spotting scopes for non-slip carry.
Each scope comes with its own padded, zippered case. All lenses, both in the scopes and eyepieces, incorporate multi-layered, anti-reflective lens coatings to deliver optimum brightness, high contrast, true colors and viewing free from flare. As in all Nikon spotting scopes, this series utilizes high quality BaK 4 high-index prisms for clear, round images without vignetting and the internal metal surfaces are blackened to prevent light bounce that creates ghost images and annoying flare.
Nikon Sky & Earth Series spotting scopes, with any eyepiece, can be focused as close as 15 feet at 20x. The focus control, located on the front of the scope's prism housing, can be rotated smoothly without movement in the sight picture.
The 80mm scope body improves image quality especially under low light conditions, and is price competitive with most scopes of equal size.
