The popular Nikon Monarch has been redesigned! The old Monarch were great binoculars at an affordable price. It was waterproof, nitrogen purged and roof prism design. Now the Monarch PC has all the same great features but with added phase coatings, internal center focusing, and it's lighter weight. They are now improved binoculars and still a very competitive choice in their price range. Look to the Nikon Monarch to provide you with crisp, clear images and give you dependability in any weather.

Whether you are hunting out west or a birder searching for a great value in high magnification, the Nikon Monarch 10x42 ATB delivers great optical performance in one of the best consumer buys on the market. I recently spent a weekend using the Nikon Monarch as my primary optic to search for owls at dusk.
On an overcast evening in February, concerns over the combination of 10x power with 42mm objective lens bringing in enough light were quickly dispelled once I got on the field -- the Monarch provides remarkable performance in low-light. I felt I needed the 10x magnification to scan along the roadside at fence posts and utility poles for perched owls at long distances. The Monarch's comfortable ergonomics and remarkable light weight gave no hindrance in holding them steady as I scanned up to a mile away searching for ghostly owl silhouettes.
My weekend owling results were successful. I managed to find two nesting pair of Great Horned Owls, a single Barred Owl, but the most exciting moment came when using the Nikon Monarch to scan a farm field where a Snowy Owl had been previously reported. After only a few minutes, I managed to pull in the white owl against a snow bank at a distance of over half a mile. As dusk passed, the Snowy Owl began swooping across the farm fields in search of prey.
You can never predict weather in the Midwest this time of year, but because the Nikon Monarch is both completely waterproof and nitrogen-purged for fog proofing, I had complete confidence in their durability.
