This cute Scissor-tailed Flycatcher is soft and fuzzy -- and it sings! Oklahoma's state bird, the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher is also found in Texas and other neighboring states. Identified by their long, scissor-like tails, these fancy fliers are capable of mid-air somersaults and zigzag flight. Though they may sleep or migrate in large flocks, they are usually seen alone during daylight hours. They dine on flies and insects, usually caught in mid-air.
The lifelike design and detailing is the result of input from the National Audubon Society. The authentic bird song is from the world famous Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
