This cute Common Grackle is soft and fuzzy -- and it sings! Grackles are common in open fields, farmlands and suburban areas across eastern and central North America. They gather in large noisy flocks to roost and feed, often foraging on the ground for seeds and grain. These birds also eat insects, small rodents and the eggs of other birds. Nests are usually placed in trees or shrubs. The lifelike design and detailing is the result of input from the National Audubon Society.
