This cute (??) California Condor is soft and fuzzy -- and it sings! This endangered bird is the largest in North America, and has a wingspan that stretches over nine feet. Despite its large size, it has weak talons and cannot carry anything while in flight. Condors are carrion eaters; they never attack or kill living animals. At one time, the only living condors were in zoos. Today, breeding programs have tried to introduce this magnificent bird back into the wild. The lifelike design and detailing is the result of input from the National Audubon Society. The authentic bird song is from the world famous Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
